A framed manuscript and an exemplified copy of an act passed by the New York State Legislature in 1797, changing the venue for court in Washington County, from Sherwood's Inn at Fort Edward to Mary Dean's residence at Sandy Hill, N.Y. The county seat was thus changed from Fort Edward to Sandy Hill, later known as Hudson Falls, New York.
